Future Track Star?

First off, we are a boring family.
Now that it is beautiful out we've been going for walks and Dalton and I make any excuse to get the stroller out.
It stinks not having a second car.
We are lucky enough to have a couple friends who offer to let Dalton and me tag along, but almost always when those calls come I have something on the agenda that needs to be done that day.

I also have a little anxiety about talking Dalton on play dates right now.
It's so dumb and I know I'm only hurting him by not getting him out with kids, but Dalton PLOWS over anyone and anything that it in his way. It's pretty funny, but I freak out that he is going to hurt someone else.
Also, I don't know how to let Dalton play outside.
He hates the grass. Every time we try to get him to feel it he whines and climbs up our legs.
It's pretty cute, but he won't budge.
I'm sure most babies are this way.
So the next thought would be to put him on a blanket. His first response to blankets is crawl off of it as fast as possible. :O)

I know it will get better once we are at our new house. Right now we really can't put him down in our grass and don't want to put blankets on the ground. Because of the pond in our apartment complex, there are a lot of swans, geese, and ducks. Which means lots of droppings. YUCK! I can just see Dalton stinking some in his mouth!

So what does this have to do with being a track star?
Well, sometimes when it's cold or rainy out I like to play dress up with Dalton. :O)
Taking pictures of Dalton used to be SO easy! I'd just prop him up and shoot.
Now he is all over the place and quick as can be.
That would be reason #1 that he might be a future track star.
Reason #2 Look how cute this little man looks in a track suit!
I know it's a lot of pictures. But I could only narrow our picture shoot down to half! :O)
Any advice would be lovely!

  1. Oh my goodness, he is so darling! I know what you mean about how hard it is to get pictures of your little one! I can't keep Boston in one spot for more than a minute to save my life. I'm excited for you guys to get settled into your new home, how exciting! And I don't blame you for not wanting him to roll around where there's bird droppings! Haha. I wish it would warm up here, I was really starting to love those stroller walks with Bos.

  2. oh he is making that track suit look good. As far as going outside, I've just had to start being more relaxed about everything. We were over playing on the slides yesterday and I just had to take a few deep breaths everytime I saw Hazel eat some sand... although I might have a harder time relaxing if I knew it was bird poop. hahaha

  3. Yeah Bridgette would freak out about being on anything (grass, wood chips, etc). She was a very anti-tactile baby but very oral baby. That said, just keep pushing the bounds and I think he'll get used to it. There's some cute little playground equipment in the mall that he could walk around and he'd have blast. Germ season is soon ending and if you sanitize his hands before he plays he honestly should be fine. I know it bites to let go our our little ones, but trust me you'll be glad when he's older and has some independence. BTW, he looks like a TOTAL stud in his track suit- so cute!

  4. Dalton sounds exactly like Aiden. He hates the grass and would definitely find the bird droppings interesting enough to give them a little taste test! He is getting better about outside, but he just stays on the sidewalk and runs around. He sure is getting big, I can't believe how stinkin' cute he is. We miss you guys.

  6. Dalton looks so cute! I understand about letting him play outside. It will get a lot better in your new house. But a lot of it is just the age.
