A Visit from Family and Some Shots of a Father's Day gift in the making

Part 1 
Jed's mom and two younger brothers came from Idaho for a visit. Jed and I, being the amazing people we are, made them work their tails off the whole time. Note: Jed worked really hard to save up time to take the days off of work and we knew this was it for us, so we had to take advantage of the time. We got a lot finished!

We
sanded, stained and  varnished, or painted a desk and two dressers

 dug a trench and placed a pipe to help stop our pool on our back porch

built shelves for our laundry room

found, dug out, and cleaned a bunch of pretty rocks that are now the border in our front garden

ate lots of food

spilled half of a sam's club sized tub of Ranch dressing

went to Lowe's many many times
cleared out all brush and over grown yuck around our fences
three of us successfully got lots of poison ivy...yep I got a nice shot in the bum
shortened our blinds
taught the boys and lisa how to play uker
were taught how to play nertz (Best game EVER)
played Mexican train many times
played Bang!
and lot's more.....

Dalton was a major trooper!

If you are wondering, I have been taking a lot of before and after pictures of all of our fun projects and of our house. I really just want to wait until we get curtains in all the rooms, and then I should be ready for you to see this stage of our home! :O)

Part 2

I don't actually have any pictures of Father's Day uploaded yet, but I wanted to show some of the pictures I took of Dalton. I used his "D" and "A" from in his room and had him hold them. I was wanting to have them printed and put into a picture frame with three slots, but tell me how I am supposed to do that with us only having one car? :O) Plus by the time I gave Dalton the "A" the car died. But here are some of the pictures.

I Hope They Call Me on a Mission...

When I have grown a foot or two!..... or four! 

My baby boy wore his very first white shirt and tie to church on Sunday. 

Can you believe this outfit made me emotional? :O)

In 18 short years I hope they call him on a mission and he will be prepared to answer the call. 

What a sweet spirit he has! He has a great father to model after and I will work my hardest to be the mother he needs to have to stay true to his Faith and live a virtuous life. 

I'm thankful every day that I know my divine role is to be his mommy.

Finishing the Month of May...Part 2

The day before we set off for my parents' house Dalton had chocolate pudding for the first time. He enjoyed it.

Welcome to the Festival of Flags! 

We enjoyed a funnel cake, pork tenderloin sandwiches, ice cold water, and ice

cream! We also went to a chicken noodle dinner and a pancake breakfast! Boy the food was great. There goes the hard work of losing weight! :O)

Dalton enjoyed his first parade. He loved waving his very own flag. He also loved the miniature pony and all the pretty festival queens that waved to him! It was really hot, so we took off Dalton's undershirt, and a few minutes later we undid his straps to his overalls. 

We stayed nice and hydrated while watching Papaw Jim sing in the Community Choir. Pap did a great job!

Dalton enjoyed a nice walk in Grammaw Jane and Papaw Jim's yard. He can walk really well now, but he threw a fit when he fell down, so Jed was holding on. Dalton still really hates grass! :O)

Finishing the Month of May ...Part 1

Dalton and I went to the park with my VT companion and her two little ones. 

We have learned that Dalton really loves swings! 

Below is Dalton showing how old he is! :O) He is SO smart.

He doesn't say much. So far he says Mom, Dad, ball, baba (bottle, but not anymore), No, Yeah, dog, and Dalton (Dall-on), and baby. He really only says mom, dad, and no often though. 

He understands so much though. We ask him yes or no questions and he answers the correct way. Example today. I was feeding him lunch and asked him if he wanted a bite and he said no. I tried to give him one anyway and he refused to take it. Then I asked him if he wanted a drink and he nodded yes. Sure enough, he took a huge drink! He surprises us everyday with all the things he understands and picks up on.

Dalton is such a ham! Jed put childproof latches on all the cabinets, but he had the hardest time time getting the childproof latches on the drawers. For the longest time we just didn't have them on the four drawers. This is what our kitchen looked like almost everyday. I just gave up on telling Dalton no-no. :O) 

Oh my how I love my blue eyed baby! This is one of Dalton's new dress shirts. I   L-O-V-E  him in this shirt!

And I will finish how I started! :O) This is Dalton's new swing he got from Grandma Susie and Papaw Dave got him for his birthday.
