Girls' Night Out

I got to go to a release party for the Twilight Saga: Eclipse movie on June 29th.

A couple girls in the ward have had a party for each movie and go to the midnight showing of the movie.

They do an amazing job and it's so much fun making such a big night of seeing the movie

I don't get out much and normally I love it that way. I really enjoy my little family and enjoying the simple joys.

 I sure missed my two boys! They had a great time together, but I think they missed me too!

The name of the party was

Fire and Ice

  Guests were to wear:

Warm colors if they were Team Jacob (Fire)

Cool colors if they were Team Edward (Ice)

OR

Red and White if they were Team Switzerland

As you can see, the food was delicious!

We also played Eclipse Pictionary. They even had super thoughtful gifts that were linked to the books.

And then it was time to hop in the car for Destination Movie Theater!! :O)

So excited I have no eyes! :O)

We made it! We had much better seats than the last movie. (They were great then too.) 

Because we had an hour and a half until the movie started a couple girls left and went to the nearby Wal-Mart to get water and candy to smuggle back in. $4.00 for Twizzlers?? I think not!

It was a fantastic evening! I was feeling the effects the next day when Dalton woke up bright eyed and bushy tailed at 7:00...four hours after I got home. :O) But I was mentally refreshed and so excited to be back to the normal business of being a stay-at-home momma!

WPAFB Freedom's Call Tattoo

We went to the fireworks at WPAFB the weekend before the 4th of July.

Here is what the website says about it:

"The sixth annual Freedom's Call 2010 on Friday, June 25, will recognize the contributions of our military veterans, their families and all Americans who support them with a spectacular presentation of flyovers, music, narration and fireworks.  The Air Force Materiel Command Tattoo is an annual event hosted by AFMC and Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.  The free show highlights Air Force Airmen and capabilities and is designed to strengthen bonds with neighboring communities."

Since Jed has a pass to get on base we were able to bypass a lot of the crowd and had a fantastic spot. Jed's branch boss and about 5 others from his branch were all there. 

We loved the flyovers and fireworks. Dalton had a blast seeing all the things.

Dalton loves dogs! It's the only animal sound that he will make for us. 

Humm., Two aerospace engineers, wonder what just flew over? :O) I had to laugh that one second before this they were both looking at the mirror.

He just loved it!

A shirtless afternoon.

Dalton is like every other child and loves to be naked. Isn't it so annoying cute when you are in mid-change and in a split second you see a little bum darting out the room? 

I don't know why, but I never let Dalton go shirtless or without pants, but this day I didn't even try. 

So here is Dalton showing off his manly upper body. :O)

P.S. Anyone notice that our child is a little vain?

Father's Day Weekend

The first two pictures are pre-Father's day weekend, but because they are of the boys I added them to this post.

 Dalton loves to be with his Daddy. He sure is blessed to have such a loving father. 

Dalton loves to play his Daddy's guitar! It is so neat to watch him strum along! 

Jed had one of his many expo/mini class/ week long meeting things the week before Father's Day. When Jed gets home from work he always takes his CAC card and puts it around Dalton's neck. Dalton really thought it was neat that Daddy put his temporary name tag on him. 

On special occasions Jed, Dalton and I go to my family's church. 

My very special grandpa loves it when we come, so we made sure to go for Father's Day.

On Father's Day we went to my Uncle Rick and Aunt Pam's house. They have a huge smoker and smoke pulled pork, baby back ribs, and brisket. We had lots of sides and yummy desserts. 

I saw these on Bakerella last year and then on my friend's blog too and my mom and I decided we had to make them! Oh boy, they took a long time to make! The bun is a cupcake, the hamburger is a brownie, the condiments are icing (the lettuce could have been coconut dyed green but Jed doesn't like coconut) and the french fries are sugar cookies. I wish I would have had extra red icing to make a bit of "ketchup" on the fries.

After eating, we enjoyed some time in the sprinklers. Dalton is a total water bug. He loves it! I can't believe how well he handles water in his face.

I am so grateful for a father who loves me so much. He has been an inspiration to me. He calls himself the luckiest unlucky man. I think he has it right. He has had so many heartaches and challenges in his life, but he is still here to enjoy life. I am thankful that he has been so (for the most part) willing to understand and accept who I am. I can only imagine how hard it would be to find out that you can't attend your only daughter's wedding. He is a great dad to my brother and me and also our spouses. Thanks Daddy! I love you!

Jed was heart broken that he lost his nice football on base during PT a few months ago. 

Since we are on a very modest gift budget I got him a new football. 

I had my brother pick it out and buy it for me since we only have one car. 

He was so surprised and excited to use it. 

Someone else takes after his daddy. 

  

This little guy is a football kind of guy and we love it!
