A Smogesborg Type of Post. :O)

So I've been a major slacker in Blog World lately. The last two weeks have been full of all kinds of things. I'd like to say I'll do a great job summarizing it all into a nice short post....but if you are reading this I guess you know me well enough to know that I just don't summarize that well. :O)
To start off...this was my weekly shot two weeks ago. This was taken on my birthday.... the BIG 2-5...a quarter of a century.... wow. This is the only picture from the day, but I had to tell everyone how sweet Jed is (just in case y'all didn't know from the hundred other times I blog about him!)
My birthday was just perfect! It's so hard to believe that next year we'll have a 10 month old! Anyway! The day started out with breakfast in bed! Jed made waffles and they were perfect! Then I was sent on a little scavenger hunt to find my present! It was the 2009 Willowtree Figurine! I love it I love it I love it! :O) After relaxing the whole afternoon with Jed beside me (No school...no work...no homework!! the BEST!) we went to Iggy's for dinner. It was SOOO yummy! After Iggy's Jed planned cake, ice cream and games with some of our friends! It was so cute! I really am thankful that I have such a sweet hubby who thinks about those kinds of things!

Well as most of you know my whole "nesting" situation is driving me nuts. So far I've had all kinds of little projects to work on to help me forget about it. I thought I'd share some of it with you!
My sister-in-law Heidi threw me a shower on March 14th. She's the sweetest thing... here she is....pregnant with her third..... and not a few months pregnant but only 2 and a half weeks behind me...and she is throwing me a shower! Heidi Thank You Thank You!!! Jed and I wanted to do something small for them so I went on wordle.com (Thanks Ali!!!) and made these neat print outs and framed them.
This is the boys! It was fun coming up with words to describe little boys! I modge podged the frame to go with their room. It was a fun little project.
This is the one for Heidi and Jon. It's The Family: A Proclamation to the World. It's so neat because the more a word is used the bigger it is God, Family, Eternal, and children were the biggest words. Helps to keep our prospective huh?

This is the group gift from my shower! WE LOVE THIS SWING! It is so soft and I love how neutral it is. Jed is a huge fan of all the things that require assembly... my engineer. :O)
Jed's Grandma Butler makes each grandkid... and great grand kid a beautiful blanket. I've known about these since a couple months after we were married. Every time we'd visit she'd remind us that she had our baby's blanket done, she just needed to know if it was a boy or girl so she could add the back to it. :O) We love Dalton's blanket and are so thankful for Grandma Butler!
As if she didn't do enough, Heidi also made Dalton these burp clothes! They are so cute and boyish!
We were also given some other really awesome stuff, but figured I would spare the readers.... if anyone is still reading.... lol

This is my rag/shag quilt that I made for Dalton! I really am glad it turned out! Before we were ever even pregnant I saw this cute puppy fabric on sale and talked Jed into buying a couple yards of it. I was so excited when we found out Dalton was, in fact, Dalton and started working on this quilt!

These are the burp clothes that I made with leftover flannel I had. I can't crochet so I just decided the rag/shag sewing was pretty Kera Proof so here they are. :O)

And last here is this week's picture. I'm exactly 34 weeks. I don't know if you can tell or not, but I'm pretty much the same size (a little smaller) than two weeks ago. While we were in Twin I came down with either bronchitis or the flu...the doctor said he wasn't going to test me since there wasn't really anything we could do. I have to tell you it was super scary. Jed and I were both really afraid at times for little Dalton... I won't bore anyone with details, but it was bad. lol. It was nice to be in Twin when I was sick. Jed's mom, Lisa really took care of me.... not to say Jed didn't or wouldn't have if we were in Logan, it's just a mother's touch you know? :O)
Anyway so I knew I lost a little weight from being sick but when we went to our doctor's appointment on Tuesday I had lost 6 pounds. What a bummer... I've worked really hard to try to gain a healthy amount of weight and there I was only 7 pounds heavier than when I got pregnant... 34 weeks along.... Dalton weighs around 5 pounds himself..... let's just say I had a little rough time with the situation....nothing like feeling like a neglectful, bad mom before he is even born. The good news is Dalton is still doing great.... he's not starving and is growing like a little weed. His heart rate was perfect. We are so excited for him to come in 6 weeks or so!
Well that's it for the Butler news here in Logan.... bless your heart if you are still reading this! lol

Maternity Pictures!

Sorry to anyone that is my friend on Facebook. You can just ignore this post. :O)
So a few weeks again I realized that we get a weekly picture to document our baby boy's growth, but Jed never gets to be in the picture. Jed has been the most amazing husband through our pregnancy. The countless trips to get a Slurpee or fruit, the many, many times of comforting me after getting sick for the 3rd, 4th, 5th time of the day, helping me put my church shoes on, rubbing my back, sleeping with two extra pillows in bed with him, seriously the list goes on and on and on. I just really wanted to get a few pictures of the two...errr three of us... together. I didn't want to forget the excitement in our eyes... I just wanted to CELEBRATE this time of our lives! :O)
.... and then I remembered we were poor students .... LOL. Luckily we have some pretty amazing friends! Whitney is fantastically talented! I asked her if she would take a few pictures for us and not only did she say yes, but also she was really excited! She and her hubby, Tyler took a lot of time out of their day to go around Logan and find some really fun places. I can't thank them enough! THANK YOU WHITNEY and TYLER!! We owe you big time!
OK so here are some of the pictures..

How do you "nest" when you're moving right after the baby is born?

Here's how I've been nesting for my baby boy! 3 picture frames, 1 shadow box, 3 umm not sure if they'll be picture frames or shadow boxes, 3 sports plaques, and two airplanes......plus the scrap book paper, paint, ribbon, and sandpaper.... all for $35!!
This was the most expensive thing we bought. We found this at a consignment shop in Salt Lake. It was $12 and it was painted bright red shiny paint. We actually bought this before we found out if we were having a boy or girl. Jed said if the baby was a girl we could paint it pink (LOL) or put it in his office. :O)

This is what the plaques looked like before.... the were $0.97 each and the three wooden sport things were $0.57 each!

Ok these were from the DI and we $0.75 each. They are really deep picture frames...like 1.5 inches or so. I was thinking I could make them like little shadow boxes... but am not sure...ANY IDEAS??? Please :O) also they didn't have glass in them... I assume I could go back to the DI and buy three more frames for the glass. :O)
This was another $.50 frame. :O) It had "I love my Cat" and all kinds of Cat phrases on it... so I covered it. :O)
This is his little closet. Everything has been washed with baby detergent, hung up or folded since the second week of January... The plastic bag has all the free samples of stuff that you get at the hospital, Babies R Us, formula companies, etc. I'm just running out of things to do until he is due!
