Mother's Day Weekend

Mother's Day weekend was wonderful! I didn't get pictures of a lot of things, but here are some! 

This was our perfect sleeping angel. :O) 

Here is that same angel, only annoyed that the ride to Grandma and Papaw's house is 2 hours and 15 min and he woke up only 30 minutes into the drive. 

"Mom I will eat my own foot if you don't get me out of here soon!"

He decided in the end it was worth the drive to have that view in his Grandma's arms!

He marked his territory by drooling on all the toys.

He finally got to play with his really cool airplane toy that Wanda, Bruce, and Elizabeth got him for his birthday. 

This is the figurine that he and Jed got me for Mother's Day. I, like lots of people, love Willow Tree figurines and Jed has gotten me each year's ornament since we've been married. :O) I love it and am so happy my hooks are now even. It has bothered me the whole year having three of the four pegs full and one empty. :O)

He also got to have his cousin Grady spend the night at Papaw and Grandma's house. 

I cut a lot of hair, as usual.

We got to see lots of friends from church.

We had a DELICIOUS steak dinner at my uncle and aunts house. 

And his Papaw got him his very first (toy) tool set.

I didn't change a single diaper the entire weekend. :O) Thanks sweet Jed!

 Dalton was a little crammed in the truck on the way home. We had LOTS and LOTS of stuff for our yard sale. He was ok though. He had his blankie, his leopard, and my laptop with Blue's Clues going. :O) He slept for a while though. He isn't the best sleeper anywhere put in his crib, but sometimes he learns to make do! :O)

And here I am planting our very first flower in our weed flower garden. Thanks Grandma for the beautiful flowers! They were a sweet gift!

At the Park!

I'm REALLY lucky to have a couple really great friends here in Huber Heights. I'm not going to lie. It has been really tough being here without a car. I get so lonely sometimes. Well Dalton is finally at an age where I feel like he has fun playing with or around kids and I'm not being selfish by having play dates. 

At the very beginning of May we had beautiful weather and my friend, Adrianne, asked Dalton and me to go to the park with her and her boys. 

We were short one bucket seat at the park. First we tried swinging on a big swing, but Mommy felt a little unsteady. She isn't the most graceful person. :O)

Then Isaac and Dalton were both in a bucket seat for awhile. Dalton thought it was so funny that they were in there together. He is so lucky to have cute friends who love him so much! 

Next Dalton had a turn on the swing all by himself. 

He thought he was such a big boy!

Then Dalton was a good boy and shared. So he got on his big blanket and ate all his toys, because that's what you do with toys! 

Last we went on the swing one more time.

This time the swing reminded him of when he was a baby.

He was out cold!

(notice the hate that is WAY too small for him! It's a 12-18 month hat. That's one thing Dalton got from the Butler side, a HUGE head! :O) It's for all his brains! I had a new hat on the shopping list but hadn't made it to a store to get one and I wanted to be able to cover his head if he was getting too much sun. It did the trick) :O) 

Dalton the Nephite

So I'm catching up on the blog. :O) Back, oh probably three weeks ago, Jed, Dalton, and I were in the floor playing as we normally do. I'd been cleaning all day and so I had my hair pulled back into a ponytail and my headband on to keep my short layers out of my face. Dalton decided to pull it off and play with it. Jed put it on Dalton. Our first thought was what I pretty little girl Dalton would be with his long curls and curly super long lashes. In an attempt to make this a MANLY experience we decided Dalton actually looked like a Nephite. So now Dalton goes around sometimes dressed as a BOM character! :O)

Updos :O)

I was lucky enough to get to do two updos in the last few weeks. I think they are always a lot of fun. Thanks Emily and Aerro for asking me to do your hair for your special events! Emily was going to prom and Aerro went to a Dining In on base. Hope your nights were great!

Carriage Hill Farm and Park

We celebrated Dalton's birthday the day after (a Friday) by taking him to Carriage Hill Park here in Dayton. We thought it would be a perfect way to spend special time together. It was a beautiful day and Dalton loves his stroller and he had never been to a farm before. 

When we got there we went to the little store the have there. It's neat because the have penny candy and so we took $1 and got Dalton a sucker and we got a couple pieces of candy too. 

This was Dalton first candy (and only so far).  It was so funny because he knew exactly what to do with it when I handed it to him. He didn't let go of it the ENTIRE time. It was SO cute! 

Dalton was a little afraid of the animals. He kept a nice tight grip on us, but you could tell he really wanted to check out all the animals.

This little boy makes me smile. I love him so much and can't believe I get to be his mommy.

So I've noticed that ever since I took my blog private I get a fraction of the comments I used to (thanks to those four or so faithful readers who still comment!). Just wondering. Is it because our lives are totally boring and people are sick of 30 pictures a post of Dalton, or are you still out there friends? Just being shy? I think this has been why I haven't been as great at posting on here as I used to. It's great to have this as memories and hope one day to get them put into books, so it really should just be for me and the sake of remembering all these fun times, but I'm totally a person who needs so motivation. So if your out there friends leave me a comment! You don't have to keep it up! :O)
