We're Telling!!!!

LOL So all my mom had to do was ask me twice and we decided to tell her! So here it is everyone....................................................................................................................................
....................................................................................................................................................
.........................................................................We're having a baby BOY!!!! It's an understatement to say that Jed is excited! He's pretty cute about "his son"! :O) Here's some pictures of our little wiggle worm.

Dalton is such a shy little boy. He loves his little arms in his face. Our ultrasound tech told us he was a pretty camera shy baby. We got a little worried that he wouldn't let us see if he was a boy or girl, but let me tell you...... Mr. Dalton Butler is not shy down there!! LOL He was flashing us constantly as the tech was trying to check all the vitals! He is so full of energy! We love his little personality already!

THE BIG WEEK!!!!

THAT'S RIGHT....WE FIND OUT WHAT WE ARE HAVING THIS WEEK!!!!

Our appointment is Thursday at 3:30!!! I can not tell you how excited both of us are! I am just so torn between what I think. I
've really thought most of the pregnancy that we are having a girl..... but almost everyone that I know that is either pregnant or have a newborn have little girls. My brain tells me it must be a boy then. So we'll see if my mind or my gut is right.
Jed's been pretty set about this being his little girl. Oh man, if the baby is a girl she already has him wrapped around her tiny little finger!
So I'm sure you all are figuring that before 5:oo on Thursday we'll have it posted on here, through email, and Facebook..... here's the deal. We've decided not to tell our family members until we are in person because it was so sad not to get to see their faces when we told them we were pregnant.

SO TUNE IN ON JANUARY 1ST TO FIND OUT IF WE'RE WELCOMING
Avery Kate OR Dalton David!!
And here's this week's picture! One day we'll get one with Jed in there too! :O)

What's New!

Hello everyone! I love this time of year and love it even more now that I get to spend every holiday with the love of my life! We had an awesome Thanksgiving! Jed's mom, Lisa and his youngest brother, Jim came from Twin Falls and we had Thanksgiving here at our apartment. I LOVED IT! I really really enjoy cooking (not so much baking) So last year and this year Jed and I got to do all the cooking AND NO DISHES!!! Fantastic! Lisa and Jim always wash the dishes when we cook. I have to toot our own horns..... It tasted fantastic!

Lisa also treated us, Jon and Heidi, and Jim to the Forgotten Carols.....WOW what a moving experience. I cried a lot!...partially because of being pregnant but I know I would have cried a lot anyway. It was so good to start out the Christmas season with a musical that reminds you what Christmas is all about. Sorry no pictures. :O)

BABY NEWS
We are 18 weeks and counting! We had our appointment yesterday. I have finally gained a pound! It's so weird to be excited to gain weight, but it feels good to know I have to be getting the baby more now. The heart beat was 150 and everything seemed great. I did get talked to about my lack of food choices though. It always feels bad when a doctor tells you that you are doing something wrong. It's really been tough... almost everything I eat is raw fruits and veggies. They are literally the only thing that settles well. So we are going to start working on eating more meat and dairy. He was pleased with my lack of wanting sweets or fried foods. :O) NEXT WEEK....THURSDAY.... We find out what we are having! We can HARDLY STAND IT!!! We won't write on here what we are having until after Saturday though. We didn't get to see the look on my family's faces when we told them we were pregnant so we want to tell them once we are there for Christmas break. The post will come though!

Also I will be finished with school the first week of February!!! YAY!!! I can not wait to get out of school!

And LAST but not LEAST.... I'm signing up to sell SCENTSY tomorrow! So from now on if any of you would like Scentsy PLEASE contact me! I'll have my own website where you can view the catalog and even place an order online. I'll also have catalogs too!

Thanks everyone for reading! We love you all and are so thankful for such good friends!

Bye Bye First Trimester!

So here I am 14 and a half weeks along! I've been so surprised by how I really am starting to feel I lot better! I thought around Jed's birthday that I was feeling better, but it was just a sneak peak. The last two weeks were miserable and we were starting to get a little worried at times, but we got through it! The great news is I started back to school on Monday! I am SO happy to get out of our home!!! The mornings are still pretty rough but I am more than ok with a few hours of being icky!

Also GREAT news: We had our monthly check-up with Dr. Noorda and the baby is doing great. He said the baby is defiantly growing! I was a little worried because I lost weight from the last visit but we were assured that even though they'd like it more to see the scale going up that the baby is getting what he/she needs! We got to hear the baby's heartbeat and it was a little scary. The nurse couldn't find it for a long time and finally asked Dr. Noorda to help. It took him a couple mintutes but he got it! 151. He said that's great! And we just have a baby that like to stay as low as he/she can. :O) Already making mommy and daddy scared. :O) We are just so excited! Thanks for reading. I'm sure if you are a mommy you're thinking "I remember the first pregnancy and how EVERYTHING was just so scary and exciting" Well I take that to the max...my posts might be a little boring...and I apoligize if so. :O)

Happy Birthday Jed!

For Jed's birthday I planned a Murder Mystery Dinner. It was "Lethal Luau". I have been feeling so badly about how big of a slacker I've been since I've been sick a lot and I finally started feeling a lot better. So I sent Jed off to work and do homework ALL day on Saturday. I had gotten the food and decorations a few days earlier and our neighbors, the Garretts, stashed it all for me (and helped move my furniture, and let me borrow a ton of stuff....bless their hearts...THANKS GUYS!) I asked Tyler to help me move the couch and loveseat into the dining room and the table and chairs into the living room. It was so neat to have it that way.
The Menu suggestions in the game were really weird recipes, so I spent a few hours "researching" Hawaiian dishes. We had chicken kabobs for the appetizer and ham with pineapple and pop, salad, ham fried pineapple ginger rice, pineapple, rolls, this yummy punch, and a pineapple cherry cake. I kind of went all out but Jed wouldn't tell me what he wanted so I figured I would cook him a GOOD dinner for the first time in over a month!
It was a lot of fun decorating and cooking, but by the time the party started I was wore out! LOL but then our friends showed up and I was wide awake!
Here are some pictures of the night!
This is the table.

This was the food table and the punch table. (forgot to take one when the food and drinks were served)

I wanted to cover up the TV so I used the curtains my mom gave us. I thought it worked well!

We had a good time! I wish we could have had all our friends there with us. It's so hard when only 8 can play. Here were the players.
Jed: Rip Tide- A scuba diver instructor
Ryan: Les Baggs- A tourist
Leah: Leilani- A Hawaiian hula dancer
Tyler: Joey Breaker- The surfer dude
Whitney: Nadia Seymour- The swimsuit model
Erik: Chief Wiki Wiki (his name was longer than that....can't remember)- Hawaiian chief
Mindy: Holly Day- super rich wife
Me: Birdie Putt- Professional woman's golfer at a tournament

It's hard work being the birthday boy!

LOL

I'd just like to take a quick second to draw your attention to my baby countdown thing at the bottom of our blog. For this week it says:

"My Mommy's uterus is almost the size of a grapefruit, which she'd like to throw at Daddy right about now."

LOL! This is so funny to me! I'm only a little extra emotional on the other end of the spectrum. I want to cry a lot! Luckily it's mainly during the day while Jed is at school. And it pretty normal reasons.... Wanting my mom and grandma (and of course the rest of my family) closer by, wanting to feel like a real person (not being so stinking sick!), and wanting my hubby (or ANYONE to talk to!). Like I said luckily Jed is mostly gone. The poor guy just looks at me like "can't I just be sick and let you feel well?" Anyway I thought this was too funny! I can just imagine a pregnant woman threwing a piece of citrus fruit at her poor husband!

Our first Ultrasound...Without Pictures to Post....

So yesterday we had our first appointment with our doctor, Dr. Noorda. Everything went really well and he seems really nice and funny. When we had our ultrasound it was so funny. Now I know it's probably the same with all you guys and your first....your husbands were so excited they couldn't see straight. Jed is just the cutest thing ever. I love how I'm not the only one that tears up at things....not saying he cries a lot....actually normally he never does, but when it comes to Taddy (the baby...that what Jed calls him/her) he is a little emotional. I love him!!
So I can't wait to show off our ultrasound pictures...BUT... our brand new all-in-one printer will do everything but scan! It just won't work....needless to say Jed got kinda frustrated with it and had to just stop for the night. LOL. So we'll get it on here eventually!
Since we don't have a picture, I'll just have to tell you all about the baby. First of all the baby is 2.62 cm long and growing! and his/her heartbeat was 172 beats per minute. (Now my mom told me that means we are having a girl because it's over 140 bpm.....lol I love old wives tells...)
During the ultrasound the baby was putting on a show! He/she was standing on it's little head. I mean the baby was perfectly vertical, which help a lot in understanding what was what on the screen. The baby stayed perfectly still while it was picture taking time! And then all of a sudden he/she started wiggling around! So amazing to see the baby move. He/she is defiantly going to be a little dancer! LOL And then we heard the heartbeat......and I lost it. :O) WOW!!! Our baby is real!
And for a quick update: I know my last post was all about how sick I was, so I figured I should update that. Three days ago I stopped taking the prescription that the doctor gave me and I am starting to feel a lot more like me! The medicine made me sleep way too much and every time I stood up I felt like I was going to pass out. I have been feeling so much better! I still get sick in the mornings and early afternoons, but I can handle that! Thanks so much for all the advice!

Ok and one more thing. So Jed insists on taking a picture every Monday to show the progress... well the first few pictures were just plain scary... I looked like I was dying and my stomach didn't look any different. But this picture is the first that shows a little bump..... I went from nothing to this in two days! I also had to get a pair of maternity jeans! In two days I went from being able to use the rubber band trick with my normal jeans to wearing the pants out of the store because I couldn't imagine having to put them back on! LOL

For Those of You Who Don't Know Yet!

So here we are...Jed has two more semesters until he graduates here at Utah State and I graduate at the end of November and we are having our first baby! It's really soon to tell but we just couldn't wait to tell the world! We are due on May 8th (Jed graduates on May 1st)! Wow we are so excited!
Well so far this ship we're sailing on hasn't had a smooth ride. :O) My morning sickness started 12 days ago and the last four were so bad that I was in tears multiple times. Last night Jed gave me a blessing and I've felt a lot better. We also think I had the flu on top of the morning sickness (and why is it called MORNING sickness??) because I had a fever and was freezing. Poor Jed is already feeling the pressure of me needing him a lot more (especially in the kitchen). He is just so amazing I love him to death!! He is going to be such a great daddy!
So here are our names:
If the baby is a boy he will be named Dalton David Butler. Dalton was my grandma's maiden name and David is my dad's name.
If the baby is a girl she will be named
Avery Elizabeth Butler or Avery Kate Butler. Elizabeth was my great-great-grandma's name and it's my middle name. And Kate is my great-grandma's name AND when I talk to my mom on the phone she always asks how Katie is doing. She always wanted my name to be Kate....so we will see!
This is probably one of the most random posts I've written... and I blame it all on not leaving the house for 4 days! :O)
So I need so feed back from those of you that are way more knowledgeable at pregnancy. My big problem is that I feel like I have to eat something every 10-15 minutes to keep the nausea down. I mean ALL day! I really have begun to hate eating! Is this a normal thing and what did you eat??? Any other advice is WELCOME!!! :O)
That's it for this post. Again, sorry about the randomness!!!!

Natalie's Wedding, Our One Year Anniversary and the Twin Falls Temple Dedication

It's here OUR ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY!

So I am over a week late for this post but it's been a busy week! Jed really out did himself!! WOW he did great! We started out the weekend driving to Boise for one of my old roommate's wedding! Here she is with her new hubby! Natalie is seriously one of the sweetest girls I've ever met! She helped me through a lot being at BYU-I so far away from Ohio. Her luncheon and reception were so pretty!

I've always wanted to go to Hawaii and so Jed surprised me by taking me to the Anniversary Inn and we stayed in the "South Pacific" room. Now I defiantly was a little worried... I thought it might be really cheesy to stay in a themed suite, but BOY was I wrong! It was so fantastic!! Here are some pictures.
This is the awesome, huge whirlpool tub! It was so nice! Notice the rose petals!! Jed had the Inn add them! SO pretty!
This is to show the really neat shower! It's out of a cliff! It was SO pretty!

The view from the door!
The view from near the bed!
So pretty!! So it was a really romantic stay! Jed even brought our wedding music and all kinds of treats and a couple of my favorite movies! It was so nice to relax! Next we drove to Twin Falls for the Temple dedication. It was so amazing! The Spirit was so strong as we were able to listen to President Monson! The Church is true! We didn't take pictures that day but two weeks before that we went to the Open House and took pictures of the outside, here are a couple!

So after playing a couple games with the family and eating lunch we decided it was time to go home. OK so I defiantly thought that our anniversary celebration was over, but when I walked into the apartment this is what I saw!!!! AND steak, corn on the cob and baked potatoes in the refrigerator! YUMMY!

Is this not seriously sweet!?!?! Thanks to the Ostlers for helping Jed out!

Lacy's Sign In Book

So my friend and old roommate (BYU-I) , Lacy, who I love to death got married recently and asked me to make her sign in book. We forgot to take pictures of it until we were in the parking lot of the Temple. They aren't the best pictures of the book. The colors were black, white, and turquoise. So here's how it turned out!
Ok so this isn't quite half the pictures but who really wants to see 30 pictures? :O)
Now I'm working on Rissa's sign in book. When it's finished I'll make sure to take better pictures!
