Forts and Sugar Cookies

What do you do when your toys start getting old and it starts getting cold outside?
First you run around and pout while Mommy cleans the bathrooms...

(Teething much? He is a drool machine!)

After you FINALLY get Mommy's attention,
You make a fort and get under it with your Daddy and your Mommy.

After that gets old, you help Mommy make sugar cookies
while Daddy tries really hard to do some school work.

(He is such  big boy these days!)
The outcome was nice if I do say so myself. :O)

Happy Birthday Sweetie!

October 14, 1984 has got to be one of my favorite days ever! I might have been a mere 7 months and 4 days old, but I knew that was a special day! I am so thankful that Jed was born!

I have to say, I was quite the lazy wife this year. I was so busy with hair and Dalton that I didn't make Jed a birthday cake. He surprised me and asked for an Angel food cake instead. What? Just add water and beat for two minutes? Alright! We all enjoyed a nice big piece with whipped cream and yummy strawberries.

Dalton's First Day in Nursery

Well that's the best you can expect when you don't have the time to get pictures before church and you have a tired toddler at 1:30. Before we were out of the parking lot he was asleep.
We are just transitioning him into the nursery. I'm a Primary teacher, so I can't be in there, but Jed is available during the second hour. Dalton enjoy snack time and loved to color (he tried to steal a little boy's crayon though). Jed said he wasn't interested in singing time though. :O)
Jed had to teach a lesson the third hour, but the workers told Jed that Dalton was welcome to stay since he was so well behaved. We were told he did really well. :O)
And here is Dalton's first activity from Nursery! :O)

This is our friend, Glenn, he is like the adoptive grandfather of our good friend, Ashley. We see him every Sunday for dinner. He is a really great guy and we really love being around him. Dalton adores him,

Katie's Pumpkin Barn

This first picture isn't at the barn or even on that day, but I had to document Dalton's cute coat!

We went to Katie's Pumpkin Barn to pick our pumpkins and get bales of straw for the spots where we are trying to get grass to grow. It is so fun to have a toddler! Really, Dalton is so much fun! (95% of the time)

They also had chickens and a rooster and even a peacock.

The whole time we were there he just kept talking about the balls (pumpkins) and the birds (chickens).

Dalton also got a new pair of cool shades... he won't wear them though. He would rather scream at the top of his lungs when the sun is in his eyes. ;O)

The Apple Festival

My home county has the Apple Festival every year. I wanted to take Jed there last year but it was cold and dreary, so we skipped it. This year was a lot of fun. My mom, dad, grandpa, Jed, Grady, Dalton, and I all went. Dalton and Grady LOVED going on the carousel and the cars.

The boys were happy as clams in their car and then the operator asked if a couple girls could get in with them. Wow this could be real in 16 or 17 years.
Oh and can you imagine how many times I pulled out the hand sanitizer and baby wipes.

And these are pictures on our way to church that weekend. I don't know if you can tell or not but Dalton is reading Mr. Brown Can Mow Can You?. It's both of our favorite book to read together.
I make it really animated and he thinks it's so funny. :O)
The cow sound that he makes is the most adorable thing ever. Just imagine noise with those fat cheeks.
Also when he is playing and we ask him to go get Mr. Brown Can Mow Can You he will go and look through every book until he finds it and brings it to us.

Buckeyes!

We LOVE the Buckeyes!
It hurts a little to post these pictures after the big upset Saturday, but these pictures were of happier days.

After the game we came home and I made a batch of chocolate chip bran muffins (a staple in our home).
A big bonus is that it is eggless so Dalton was able to devour spoonfuls of the batter.
He LOVED it!
