Update

Who is sick of hearing about my pregnancy? Sorry to you all! :O) I told myself this was going to be a short post..... did NOT happen..... you are free to skip this and any posts I publish that bore you to death! :O)

So I failed to mention at last week's appointment my blood pressure was really high and I had protein in my urine (too much info? sorry). They drew my blood and told me they would call if it came back abnormal. Well as I was bopping down the aisles of Hobby Lobby the nurse called and told me that the results came back and they weren't good but not much to worry about but my doctor wanted me to stay on modified bed rest...stay??? I didn't know I was supposed to be on modified bed rest..... and to drink plenty of fluids and if told me the warning signs to look for and to go to the hospital if any of them arrived.

On Sunday I was minding my own business at Sacrament meeting and as the meeting went on I realized my eyes were so blurry that I couldn't see if Jed's eyes were opened or closed.... and I was only 6 or 7 rows back. I told Jed as soon as it was over that we needed to go to the hospital.

When we got there I really thought they were going to take my blood pressure and tell me I was crazy. I can't remember what the top number was but my bottom number was 107 (and we were told they consider 80 to be too high). They did a non stress test to make sure Dalton was handling it all well (of course our little tough guy wasn't bothered by it all) and took it every 15 minutes for a little over an hour. The bottom number was 87 when she told us the on call doctor wanted me to be on bedrest and get to my doctor as soon as possible (he was going to be in surgery all day Monday). Luckily our appointment was on Tuesday morning.

So at our appointment yesterday my blood pressure was still way too high. He said he really hoped I had dilated because if so he was sending me to labor and delivery..... NOTHING.... not even a 1. He played around with the thought of inducing me and told us he was taking my blood again and if any of the results (kidneys, liver, platelets, etc) came back even a little off we would be going to the hospital to be induced. 6 of the longest hours later they call and say my tests were just fine and to come back in the morning.

Today when he walked in the room he asked why I haven't had the baby yet..... wouldn't I like to know!?! He said my test results came back abnormally good for how high my blood pressure is. He explained that there are pros and cons to both me having the high blood pressure and to being induced. He checked me again and of course I'm still not dilating. He explained he is really sitting on the fence with this. So he played around with the thought of inducing me again but and told us that if we wanted to be induced all we had to do was tell him and we'd have the baby today. Jed and I had decided before this that we really didn't want to let our opinions really push him to do or not do something that he felt was for the best and we told him that. He decided we'd give my body until Friday morning (8:45...before they really even open) and if I hadn't gone into labor before that to come see him and bring our bags....... so that's the very long boring story...... until Friday I'm on strict bedrest.... so I'll be stalking you all on here lots. :O)

Doctor's Appointment

So the last week or so has been so tough.... I was so proud of myself for being so patient with the pregnancy and that's not easy when I'm still morning sick at almost 37 weeks.... but then it all hit at once.... I AM GOING CRAZY!!!!!
Seriously it makes no sense whatsoever to want Dalton to come early. Poor Jed has lots of studying and homework to do all the way until the day before he graduates, we want him to get to walk at graduation, once school is over he'd only have to leave us for about 20 hours a week and right now he leaves for class at 9:00 comes home around 5:00 and then has homework until midnight or later.........WHO IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WOULD WISH TO ADD GOING INTO LABOR WITH OUR FIRST BABY TO HIS LIST OF STRESS?? I must be the worst wife in the world. Jed is so excited to be there for us and he is really wanting to have "Daddy jobs" like burping him and changing his diaper at night.... I think it's so sweet that he wants to have special time with him to bond..... but that won't happen if Dalton comes while he is trying to finish the semester.
So if I know all of this, then why was I so frustrated when I saw the look of pure relief on Jed's face when Doctor Noorda told us that my cervix was completely closed and his guess would be he won't come for a couple more weeks........ :O/ Seriously? No progress at all? Nothing? Not even a little? So this is my news.... NO NEWS....

p.s. I do know that every woman is different... I know that I could be like this for weeks or go into labor tonight.... and visa versa...a woman could be dilated to a 2 and think she'll go into labor soon and two weeks later finally have the baby..... :O)

Still Kicking.... :O)

Just in case anyone was wondering....I'm still here and Dalton's still kicking! LOL... Yesterday marked exactly one month until his due date. His daddy says he's allowed to come 5 days early, not a minute sooner....... which leaves me with the joy of a really short torso and a baby boy who seems to be getting so big so fast.... :O) Our next appointment is on Tuesday... So we'll update you on that and the exciting life of the Butler's :O) Here's last week's picture..... Can I get any bigger?....lol... you betcha...just wait and see..... :O(
