As of late...

Lately I've slacked with blogging. I'm sure lots of friends who used to read our blog have gotten tired of always checking to see if I added a new post just to see a month old post. So I'm going to try to recommit myself. 

We've been laying low the last while because Dalton has been sick on and off for the last two weeks. I really don't get it. We only have one car so Dalton doesn't get out that much. I guess he catches everything like his mom and he isn't getting much of a chance to build up his immune system.

These are pictures from March 4th- March 18th 

Jed's mom came out for a great visit from the 13th to the 16th, but of course we had too much fun and then a lot of worrying with Dalton's fever to remember to take a single picture. Can you believe it? I am so bummed out; not a single picture of our lil man with his Grandma Lisa.

As we've all seen in previous posts, Dalton loves to help with chores. :O)

He pulled the clothes out one at a time at first and then looked at me and yanked the whole basket on him. 

 

This is also a great example of Dalton helping. 

While I was sorting through all his clothes and preparing his room for the move (a whole 1.5 miles away!) Dalton decided to get into everything. It is taking a lot longer to go through things this time then when we first moved here when Dalton was 6 weeks old. :O) I don't care though he is too cute when he helps!

Dalton was a little slow to get the pincher grasp down, but he made the deadline just fine. Now that he is a pro at puffed cereal and such we gave him a couple partial segments of mandarin oranges. 

He didn't care for them.

Here is a great picture of his two first teeth! 

Boy, those things brought a lot of tears to Dalton and maybe a few from his mommy too. 

I just can't get enough of him. I'm guessing everyone that reads this knows that too. 

Dalton loves this toy, but until last week he would just sit beside it and play with the toys. 

He took off on it the other night and we were just so happy and excited. 

He thought he was such a big boy! 

p.s. His pants were a little long (like Mommy) and they were just getting in the way, so we took them off.  But you can't tell me those little thighs aren't picture perfect! hehe 

This is the Friday after my birthday. We looked a lot nicer, but we were running late when we dropped Dalton off at Sam and Lindsay's  house. We had to get the pictures when we picked him up after we got poured on by the rain. :O)

Jed took me to the Melting Pot (thanks to Sam and Linds) :O) 

AND 

It was delish! :O)

It was really nice to go on a date with Jed. It was good for our marriage. 

This was only the third time both of us left Dalton: the first was in August to go see a movie for our anniversary and the second was in the fall when we went to the hospital to see my Uncle Rick. 

So I'd say it was well overdo. 

It was nice to get away for a couple hours and know Dalton was in great hands. 

We took our time and enjoy the company.

I am so grateful for Jed and the love he shows me everyday. Thanks sweetie for a great date!

25 turned out to be a great year: Jed threw me a surprise party, a had some beautiful baby showers, I graduated from cosmetology school, Dalton was born, Jed graduated, our nephew Nathan was born, we moved to Ohio, Jed started his dream job, I got to be a stay at home mom, I took cake decorating classes, we sold our car, another nephew, Grant, was born, we had lots of family time, Sam and Lindsay found out they were having a boy, we meet some great friends in our new ward, and we almost became home owners (guess that will be on my list next year!)

Boy, we have been blessed.

 This was Dalton's first trip on a slide! I thin Mom and Dad were a lot more excited than he was. It was so beautiful that day and we are SO excited for Spring! Jed, Dalton and I are really excited to enjoy the weather in our new backyard and in all the Metro Parks Dayton has to offer.

Another date just 4 days after the above date! Yahoo! New Moon at the Dollar Theater. Jed loved it and of course I loved it for the third time! :O)

Ok I'm better...

... I apologize for my Negative Nancy behavior in my last post. I am so grateful for all of you that left me comments of encouragement. I really can't believe I put that all out there for all my friends to read, but it's done and over. :O) I think Heavenly Father knew that my sweet friends would be the best at encouraging and inspiring me! Let's just hope I don't blog like that for a long time! :O) HAHAHA

I did realize that a big part of the funk has been the following:

The last few weeks we have been battling this nasty rash on Dalton's face/ neck. It itches a lot and has made him really uncomfortable. We took him to the doctor and was told it's just from the drool of teething. It got so bad that through the night it would start to bleed. :O( Needless to say, between teething (he is a slow teether) and this rash we haven't had a full night's rest for over 2 and a half months (not exaggerating). We've only had a period of one month of not waking 3-4 sometimes 6-7 times a night with Dalton and he is 10 and a half months old. Poor babe! 

You'll be able to see the remains of the rash in most of these pictures. If we think we he is doing better and stop putting the .5% hydrocortisone on it a couple times a day it will come back.

This is his serious face. :O) 

These two boys make me so happy! 

 

 

More often than not this is what I get when it is nap time. :O) 

He does eventually fall asleep and normally with little to no crying.

Excuse the coverless couches...they were in the dryer.

Dalton thinks he is one big boy now that he cruises along everything.

Ok Cute story....Grady always calls Dalton "Baby Dalton" unless he wants to do something to him, then he  says "It". I was holding Dalton and Grady come up to me 

and said "Kewah, Gady hold it" 

I said "You want to hold Dalton" 

G: "Yes" 

Me: "Ok come up here beside me"

Grady shimmies between me and my papaw and I hand Dalton to him.

First off it cracks me up that Dalton is "It"

Second, it cracks me up more that Grady calls him Baby Dalton...there is a 20 month difference in the but only 5 pounds. I mean check it out my chunky monkey just about drowns poor Grady. :O) I love them! 

 

 

 Does he look sneaky or what? Haha this is the only cabinet that it open to let him get in and he takes complete advantage of it! Jed came home a few days ago and you could hardly see the kitchen floor. 

 Dalton just got a new car seat (a convertible one) he still needs to be rear facing (stating the obvious) but he was just so uncomfortable in his carrier....maybe a little to wide for it. :O) 

So this was our first trip to the store (Sam's) without being in the carrier. 

He loved seeing everything, but this was the day before he got sick (that's a post of it's own to come) and so he was really sleepy and ended up falling asleep and being carried by Daddy.

Can I just tell you that this little boy and his daddy make my dreams reality?

They do and I love them!

This was our celebration dinner when we found out they accepted our offer!

 

Hehehe Did you know that my husband wears size 13 shoes? His feet have been that size since he was 13...oddly enough his oldest brother wore the same size too. This made Jed very excited because Jon was over 6' tall. Of course you all know that Jed never made it to 6' let alone as tall as Jon. 

Well anyway, Jed's new calling is with the Deacons and he had his first camp out two weeks ago. He didn't have any shoes other than dress shoes and tennis shoes. So after two winters of saying we really needed to get him some snow boots we broke down and did it. These puppies are NICE! He said his feet were never cold the whole time. They were also on SALE AND Gander Mountain here in Dayton gives 10% off for Boy Scouts. Boy I am so glad I always chat it up with everyone... I mean EVERYONE. I told them about the big over nighter and he said "Well great, you get 10% off extra!" :O)

I'm glad I don't wear size 13 in men's...I would look pretty weird. :O)

 These two elders are some of our favorites.

Elder Evans (on the right) got transferred almost 4 weeks ago and Elder Montgomery will most likely be gone next transfers. We have gotten to know the missionaries pretty well because our friend, Cory, had most of here lessons here at our home and now that she is a new convert they still come over on Sundays for new member lessons. It has been such a blessing to have them all in our home. I love hearing the lessons and the testimonies of the elders. I also love the friendship we have with Cory and her boyfriend Phil. They are special people. And we promise to take good care of her while Phil serves his mission!
