So I did it! I made a menu and it's been working WONDERFULLY! I asked Jed how did it feel to be fed like a husband should and he replied "you mean like a king". :O) I love that Jed is so great about showing his gratitude for things I do. We all know what it feels like when you work hard on something and no one even notices.... So Thank You Jed for Always being the wonderful husband you are!
The exciting thing about our menu planning is that we are saving lots of money (we've estimated $150 a month)! We have also greatly enjoyed not running to the store every other day (literally).
So in an attempt to give any friends dinner ideas....and so I don't have to keep searching for my notebook, I'm going to add my menu right here!

I baby sit until 3 on Mon, Wed, Fri so I try to do most of my cooking on Tues, Thurs, Sat, and Sun.... but it didn't work out perfectly this last week. Also we have decided that if by any chance we don't have any leftovers on a "leftover" day we'll eat a yummy DiGiorno pizza. :O)
NOW for my next step! I really want to get a magnetic board (probably a cookie sheet and antique it) and turn it into a little calendar and use it as my menu board! It's going to be fun! :O)

ha that is awesome! I turned a cookie sheet into a menu...it works nicely and you are extremely right, it saves you tons of money!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you like my recipes! I love that Potato soup...enjoy. I'm glad you are saving and eating well. Don't you love it when you are organized?
ReplyDeletethat's such a good idea! i never even thought about doing a menu! usually i just cook with whatever's lying around the house, thinking i'm saving money by not using recipes i have to have specific ingredients for. but it definitely makes more sense to do it your way and we REALLY need to figure out how to save more money!
ReplyDeleteoooohhhh Kera, that's awesome that you did so well on your menu! You'll have to show me how your magnetic board turns out, that sounds way cute!
