How do you "nest" when you're moving right after the baby is born?

Here's how I've been nesting for my baby boy! 3 picture frames, 1 shadow box, 3 umm not sure if they'll be picture frames or shadow boxes, 3 sports plaques, and two airplanes......plus the scrap book paper, paint, ribbon, and sandpaper.... all for $35!!
This was the most expensive thing we bought. We found this at a consignment shop in Salt Lake. It was $12 and it was painted bright red shiny paint. We actually bought this before we found out if we were having a boy or girl. Jed said if the baby was a girl we could paint it pink (LOL) or put it in his office. :O)

This is what the plaques looked like before.... the were $0.97 each and the three wooden sport things were $0.57 each!

Ok these were from the DI and we $0.75 each. They are really deep picture frames...like 1.5 inches or so. I was thinking I could make them like little shadow boxes... but am not sure...ANY IDEAS??? Please :O) also they didn't have glass in them... I assume I could go back to the DI and buy three more frames for the glass. :O)
This was another $.50 frame. :O) It had "I love my Cat" and all kinds of Cat phrases on it... so I covered it. :O)
This is his little closet. Everything has been washed with baby detergent, hung up or folded since the second week of January... The plastic bag has all the free samples of stuff that you get at the hospital, Babies R Us, formula companies, etc. I'm just running out of things to do until he is due!

  1. Oh Nesting when your gonna move is so annoying. I went through that w/ Bridgette. I ended up helping clean Lisa's house top to bottom. LOL! I'm sure she appreciated it. I mainly got stuff together like you're doing though- getting things here and there to get ready for her. Not much else you can do. You could try making a blankie (that's relatively inexpensive and only has to be as complex and you want to make it). That's one thing I've done for each of my girls by their 1st birthday- they all have their own blankies that I made just for them. Bridgette is Strawberry Shortcake; Anya is My Little Ponies; and Leila is Tinkerbell. I hope that helps. Love ya!

  2. I know just what you mean about moving soon after the baby. She comes this week, and we move early may. it is a little hard to get a ton of stuff when it will all be packed up soon. All of your stuff looks so cute! it is getting so close! how exciting for you guys! oh by the way all your pictures turned out so cute! now you just have to do it with all of your other kids so they don't feel left out!
