This last year hasn't been our best with doing fun stuff. Jed is so busy with his Masters degree and I just haven't put a lot of effort into planning things on my own. We keep talking about how Dalton is getting old enough to really enjoy different things. One of those things is the zoo. We decided to get one year family passes because they totally pay for themselves in 2.5 visits.
It was over 100 degrees and was so humid!
We brought our water cooler and our spray bottle to stay cool.
Ok I think he liked the water bottle better than the actual zoo.
This baby elephant was a new baby the last time we went to the zoo when Dalton was 7 weeks old. I thought it was cute that they are close in age.
Dalton likes to cover Jed's eyes and make him walk around aimlessly.
I love when the zoo keepers do the educational shows. We got to the lions at the perfect time. We had perfect standing spots!
"Mommy it is hot!"
We ate our packed lunches by the pond.
"Bid (big) bear mommy!"
Dalton said he wanted to pet the snake and then chickened out when we got to the front of the line. I am terrified of snakes. Seriously, they are in my top 5 things I'm afraid of. Now even three months later we will have this conversation:
Dalton- Mommy, you like "nakes"?
Me- No! mommy does not like snakes! She thinks they are yucky! But you can like snakes baby.
Dalton- Daddy, you like "nakes"?
Jed- Well buddy, they are ok. Daddy doesn't like them that much.
Jed or Myself- Dalton, do you like snakes?
Dalton- Yeah! I like "nakes"!
