Doctor's Appointment

So the last week or so has been so tough.... I was so proud of myself for being so patient with the pregnancy and that's not easy when I'm still morning sick at almost 37 weeks.... but then it all hit at once.... I AM GOING CRAZY!!!!!
Seriously it makes no sense whatsoever to want Dalton to come early. Poor Jed has lots of studying and homework to do all the way until the day before he graduates, we want him to get to walk at graduation, once school is over he'd only have to leave us for about 20 hours a week and right now he leaves for class at 9:00 comes home around 5:00 and then has homework until midnight or later.........WHO IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WOULD WISH TO ADD GOING INTO LABOR WITH OUR FIRST BABY TO HIS LIST OF STRESS?? I must be the worst wife in the world. Jed is so excited to be there for us and he is really wanting to have "Daddy jobs" like burping him and changing his diaper at night.... I think it's so sweet that he wants to have special time with him to bond..... but that won't happen if Dalton comes while he is trying to finish the semester.
So if I know all of this, then why was I so frustrated when I saw the look of pure relief on Jed's face when Doctor Noorda told us that my cervix was completely closed and his guess would be he won't come for a couple more weeks........ :O/ Seriously? No progress at all? Nothing? Not even a little? So this is my news.... NO NEWS....

p.s. I do know that every woman is different... I know that I could be like this for weeks or go into labor tonight.... and visa versa...a woman could be dilated to a 2 and think she'll go into labor soon and two weeks later finally have the baby..... :O)

  2. I know exactly what you are going through. I kept going week after week with no progress and when your doctor looks disappointed you know it is going to take a while. And about the whole morning sickness thing, I don't know for sure but I was getting sick my last trimester too and someone told me I could just have low blood sugar so when I would get up all of those many times to go pee during the night I would just eat a granola bar or piece of whole wheat bread at some point and I wouldn't be sick when I woke up in the morning. It might be worth a try. good luck with the last few weeks! It is all soooooo worth it!

  3. I don't think you are a bad wife. You are a wonderful wife. I see all you do for Jed, and it's awesome. I think you're just wanting to be done being pregnant. That is completely natural. We all feel that way at that point- trust me. And if they don't there's something seriously wrong with them. Dalton will come when he comes, and it will be a wonderful experience that will change your family for the better when he does make his grand entrance. I can also understand completely that you miss your husband and probably just want that baby to come out so you have someone to just be there. I miss Sam greatly during the day. One may ask- how can I miss him when I am accompanied by at least 2 girls during the day (and sometimes I get extra time with Bridgette), but I do miss him. This is speaking against our husbands. Our husbands are wonderful, fabulous, hard workers who love us- and we know that they are doing all they can to make the best lives for us and our children. So we can stay home and raise them in truth and righteousness. Just remember that when things seem not quite as you'd like that it will only last a moment, and it will all be well worth it. We have forever with our families.

  4. You are just so excited! AND you have every right to be! Try and be patient, though impossible. In my experience every baby is different also. Enjoy your freedom a little longer.

It is snowing here, so it most likely is in Logan. They say babies come in the storms....good luck.

  5. Oh sweetie!!! I know EXACTLY how you feel! Emily was 5 days LATE! :) hang in there-when it's all said and done you won't remember these stressful, miserable weeks quite the way they FEEL right now. PROMISE! And I'm sure LOTS of people are telling you this. ;) I love ya! MUWAH!

  6. Oh sweet lady. I can relate to the having to wait for baby feelings. When you are as close to delivery as you are, you have a constant reminder that baby is almost here... you can't stop thinking about every little thing that has to do with him... what he's going to look like, his little fingers wrapped around yours, even how much you already love him sooo very much! Your head may know how much easier it would be to wait and have the baby after Jed walks, but your heart just wants to have that baby in your arms right this second! Both of my children were delivered c-section because they were over a week late and I couldn't dialate past a four. But they're both here now, healthy and happy. Dalton will come, and you'll be so happy then that you won't have time to think about how long it took him to get here. While we're on the subject, I know you're having to spend a lot of time in bed right now... do you need anything? Meals, Sudoku, dvds? Let us know!
